As you pointed out at the beginning of your article, these “juveniles” are repeat offenders of violent crimes and weapons possession. As you well know, most “kids” don’t start their criminal activity by carrying guns and carjacking victims. They all have had previous contacts with L.E., and no one did anything out it. Not their parents, teachers, juvenile probation, the courts, older siblings, or other family members. So, now it’s the victims that have to suffer and police officers that have to deal these individuals with zero support from the legal system. Great article…Keep ‘em coming!

I remember a time when a conversation WITH a police officer often made a difference in the future life of the juvenile who was detained. Those conversations often had very positive effects. Some of the more recent changes in rules don't make sense. Neither do the reporting restrictions. Few begin their criminal life WITH a gun. Some do. So, we can't generalize. But, my suspicions about this pack is they are practiced and experienced. Sad. We can only hope someone has a talk with them. Obviously, their parents aren't actively in their lives. Maybe they just want 3 hots and a cot...in San Quentin!

Wow! Why am I not shocked to learn that the roots of todays problems include the years that Gov. Jerry Brown was on top of the manure pile?

I sure don't have all the answers, but this seems just like our home grown version of the Mexican cartels Its the only life they know. Mighty dangerous for the community.

The juveniles need to be breaking rocks in the black rock desert with their parents...to late for rescue that’s a pipe dream.

Lock em up ....revist them in 10 years..and to think the frauds just let 5 million more in our dying country...vote the bums out last chance people.

Time for a novel lou..
