On March 14, 2021, after a car chase, spike strip deployment, multiple car crashes, and a foot chase, Central Station officers arrested Tre-4 gang members, Donjuan Watson Jr. and Jalin Washington, for numerous auto burglaries. They were packing loaded firearms. (see photo below)
DA Boudin let the two auto boosters out of custody and four months later, Donjuan was arrested again for committing scores of similar crimes that included: loaded guns, a car chase, a foot chase, and recovered stolen property. Rinse and repeat, per Boudin’s mantra, Jails do nothing to treat the cause of crime, he let Donjuan out of custody again.
On March 23, 2022, Donjuan and Jalin Washington were involved in a car chase of 20-year-old, Basil Jilani. The chase started in Concord and ended in Lafayette, where Jilani crashed his vehicle. Donjuan and Washington were then involved in the fatal shooting of Jilani and the robbing of the Rolex off of his dying wrist.
Both Donjuan and Jalin were arrested for suspicion of murder.
It appears Chesa Boudin might run for SF DA in November 2023. Thus, it is important to remain current on the detrimental human impact of his policies. The Chronicle will once again run interference for Boudin.
Note, the Chronicle’s Jill Tucker’s entire synopsis of Donjuan’s and Washington’s San Francisco criminal auto tampering history was:
The three (including Anderson-Root) are believed to be ‘at the center’ of several crimes in the Bay Area in 2022.
Tucker completely missed that the crime duo commuted from Antioch to commit serial crimes within a mile radius of the building she works in. Perhaps the Chronicle writers don’t have access to Google search capability.
While Boudin, the Chronicle, and the progressives believe jails do not treat the cause of crime, it’s too bad we can’t ask the murdered Jilani whether he cared more about Donjuan being incarcerated, or the root cause of his criminal behavior.

Thanks for your research and keeping people advised about the activities of the criminal’s best friend, Chesa Boudin.
